This is our latest move from Yoga Bones Class -

and has been my answer to the intensity of Rotated Triangle - to get safe spinal rotation with an appropriate amount of balance and strength challenge.

It seems like the right amount of intensity and covers a lot of our concerns: balance, bone strength, flexibility, brain function too.

Let me know how it goes!

How does the season change show up in your body?

For me, I’m really feeling the effects - mentally and physically - a little lower back tightness a little bit anxious…

Thank goodness for yoga

enjoy this video for a quick mood shift, energy lift and full body ahhhh!

We practice this pose in Yoga Bones Class on Tuesdays and Thursdays on-the-regular because it’s so effective at getting the lower back and pelvic floor relaxed - which in turn supports everything else.

What am I talking about?

I learned about this stretch/ body position many years ago from a local musician who shared the book “Pain Free,” which was written by a physical therapist.

  • it’s recommend to do 5 - 15-minutes in this reclined position- with your hips and knees at 90 degree angles..

  • ..for an amazing, yet VERY gentle, back stretch

  • plus this version offers more guidance

Bonus points -

  • the cozier the better

  • you can do it in bed with lots of pillows to elevate your lower legs

  • eye pillow or hoodie up makes it even better

I find that when the focus of the mind is added it seems to always do the trick to get my body feeling much better!

The reason I’m most loving it -

This experience is a recipe for union made up of all the things I’ve been studying: TriYoga for active older adults, polyvagal theory, myofascial meridians specific to pelvic health!

It’s so good! Please try it if you are dealing with any lower back tightness/soreness/fatigue and let me know if it works for you!

I saw my neighbor at the last holiday party…

Then, I just saw her last week at the Summer Party..

..and she’s still singing the praises of yoga - and her teacher - and how much it has helped her live with less pain -and especially the foot exercises.

I can relate.

The first time I returned to a structured class post car accident was a 2-day foot workshop (thankfully Daniel convinced to go to).

After day one - and, for the first time in 3 years

I put my pants on standing up - not sitting on the bed.

And I was like - yoga!? yoga teacher?!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

(Talk about anti-aging right!?!? My friend sent me article about how we age quickly - not gradually. So, maybe the same could be true for how we anti-age. In fact…)

The feeling of awe at your own body - when it transforms - right before your eyes -

it’s a feeling worth practicing for!

The tennis ball technique I learned has fans in Yoga Bones class as well.

I ran into class with that same feeling as Corky and told the teacher my little victory of how I put on my pants and since then am so grateful to Daniel and Andrea Escos for making me love yoga again and especially via the foot.

What’s your body’s latest little win?

Do share! I’d love to know!

“Rotated Triangle is no joke.”‍ ‍

Everything that we’ve been doing in Yoga Bones Class has been preparing us for this pose, you dedicated yogis!

It’s certainly a teacher, this pose, in that it will show you where you’re at in every aspect of the body’s potential.

- ENJOY A YOGA BREAK! -

The above video will help you stay limbered up in case a Rotated Triangle opportunity presents itself.

Focus given to the outer hip, lower back, thoracic spine, shoulder and arm - the entire spiral line!

We do this pose in Yoga Bones Class on Tuesdays and Thursdays because it’s so good for keeping our bodies tall and upright and keeps the hips loose and prevents us from tripping.

Why is this one so good?

What' I’ve found is this pose is exposing my weakest spots, my tightest spots and my asymmetries - so my ego is getting a good challenge too.

It’s making everything else in life easier too!

To my regular fitness friends:

Recognizing the best version and best props will make all the difference in whether or not this feels good.

Walk around after you do both sides and feel your new hips, knees, ankles, spine, shoulders!

Enjoy the new you!

A little bit every day - goes a long way!

Thank goddess for‍ ‍

“Supported Raised Runner Pose”!

This one yoga pose makes me feel “put back together!”

It helps me take a deeper breath!

And makes walking feel totally different after vs. before.

I’m trying it out with extra bolster support, during these hot Summer days, which allows you to

just focus on how good it feels

-without having to work as hard to balance.

The blankets under the knee too - extra softness - plus an amazing toe stretch experience!

If you don’t have a stack of bolsters 3-ish yoga blocks (and something to hold on to) is just as good.

Breathe into your entire body and receive the benefits!

We do this pose in every Yoga Bones Class on Tuesdays and Thursdays as a strengthening flow (see video above) because it’s so good for keeping our bodies tall and upright and keeps the hips loose and prevents us from tripping.

Why is this one is so good?

When combined with a steady breathing practice, this pose really gets to the root of an issue that may be causing pain or throwing off your balance.

To my regular fitness friends that feel confident in Raised Runner Pose-

please practice this after sedentary activities, like,

  • spending a few hours at your desk, doing the bills, ect (sitting)

  • travelling (sitting on a planes or long car rides)

  • delicious meal with friends and family! (more sitting)

    Your posture will thank you!

Walk around after you do both sides and feel your new hips, knees, ankles, spine, shoulders!

Enjoy the new you!

A little bit every day - goes a long way!
